PUBLIC NOTICE: RIVERSDALE PUMP TRACK

The Hessequa Municipality, through its Tourism Section, hereby issues this public notice in accordance with the Municipal Systems Act (2000) and Municipal Structures Act (2000) on its intention to establish a CYCLING PUMP TRACK during the 2025/2026 financial year on RE/2180, Riversdale, 6670, aligned with its tourism development objectives.

A cycling pump track is generally characterised by a short, looped circuit with rollers, jumps, and berms, designed to be ridden by “pumping” your body up and down to generate speed, instead of pedalling. The cycling pump track is to occupy approximately 680 square meters and to be established on the vacant area between the Riversdale Tennis Courts and Riversdale Squash Clubhouse. The cycling pump track is to have a base layer and compacted top layer consisting of finer material to ensure durability and a smooth surface. The pump track and site is to be furnished with integrated items like benches and bins and future provision will be made for an integrated one track cycle trail at the adjacent field.

The site location is marked in white on Graphic A. The proposed track design in Graphic B, may vary with approximately 3 to 6m depending on contractor site meeting. An example of a pump track is reference in Graphic C.
