WORLD FISHERIES DAY

Today we celebrate World Fisheries Day, recognising the importance of healthy and sustainable fisheries for our communities and oceans. In honour of this day, we are sharing a special poster to help raise awareness and inspire responsible fishing practices.

Hessequa Municipality urges all community members and visitors to adhere to the rules and regulations issued by the National Department of Fisheries, Forestry and the Environment.

The marvellous Hessequa region is home to some of the most iconic recreational waterbodies within the Garden Route, including the Breede River, Gourits River, Goukou River, Duivenhoks River and the Indian Ocean.

The public is reminded that Angling Permits are obtainable from any South African Post Office or online at www.fishing.dffe.gov.za
