Hessequa Tourism is mandated to support, promote and develop the tourism sector within Hessequa Municipality, through various interventions and initiatives. Tourism infrastructure enhances a destination’s general appeal and stimulates visitation, with results in tourism growth and development. Hessequa Tourism has embarked on a mission to establish photo frames along key tourism nodes, with the first frame installed at the Jongensfontein Tidal Pool in May 2025. Now, three more photo frames will be installed before the December holidays, in Riversdale, Stilbaai and Gouritsmond.
These photo frames are aligned with the Hessequa Tourism Strategy 2023-2027, which recommends the establishment of tourism infrastructure to encourage visitors and the local communities to share their experiences on social media platforms and in doing so, increasing user-generated tourism content.
The photo frame project forms part of Grant Funding received from the Western Cape Department of Economic Development and Tourism.
