[title size=”1″ content_align=”left” style_type=”default” sep_color=”” class=”” id=””]Travel Mossel Bay[/title][fusion_text]This past weekend Hessequa Tourism participated in the Travel Mossel Bay festival, which gave 45 travel operators from across the country an opportunity to discover the Garden Route and Klein Karoo and interact with local tourism establishments.

The operators were welcomed at Delish in Heidelberg on 28 May 2015 by Mayor Emor Nel and a host of local product owners, who filled goodie bags for them which forever raised the standard of goodie bags. The Friday evening they were treated to a local produce tasting at the Garden Route Casino, sampling the region’s finest wine, cheese and other delicacies before the Caravel Awards. The following day a mini indaba was hosted where local tourism businesses could network directly with the operators. On the way back home on Sunday, the agents visited the Garden Route Game Lodge and House of Aloes, followed by a tasting and tour of Inverroche Distillery in Stilbaai.

The operators experienced the products first hand, making their knowledge of the offerings in the region that much more intimate and complete, as opposed to only looking at a website. A big thanks goes out to Mossel Bay Tourism for making us part of this event, and to all the local tourism establishments in Hessequa who came on board and sponsored products to represent the Explorer’s Garden Route.
