Basic Customer Service Training

From 25 May to 28 May 2015 the The Local Economic Development and Tourism Department hosted free, one-day basic customer service training workshops in Riversdale, Heidelberg, Albertinia and Stilbaai. The training was met with great enthusiasm from local service businesses who sent their frontline staff to attend, filling the 100 spaces available for delegates with a near full-house attendance.

Delegates learnt about the value of customer service, the Batho Pele (a Sesotho word meaning ‘people first’) principles of service delivery, building customer relationships, dealing with challenging situations and communicating through various channels.

It was however the roleplays where the delegates enacted scenarios of good and bad service that had everyone roaring with laughter as the local drama talent shined through.
