Discover Cosmic Vegan ice cream at The wildflower cafe & eco shop in Riversdale.
On the 14th of February, a unique and transformative addition graced the town of Riversdale. The Wildflower eco-shop and café was founded by Nicole Hein.
This plant-based café and eco shop is the first of its kind in town and is quickly becoming a beloved spot for residents and visitors alike. The Wildflower is not just a business; it is a vibrant, serene space dedicated to promoting eco-friendly living and plant-based health.
At The Wildflower, they collect, sell, and showcase high-quality handmade eco-friendly products and plant-based health foods crafted by local artisans. Handmade gifts, cookware, clothing, toys, gluten-free products and fermented foods and drinks all feature in the shop. Riversdale has shown an overwhelmingly positive response and this enthusiasm reflects a growing appreciation for sustainable living and healthy eating.
The facilities partnership with the local conservation organization, the GCBR (Gouritz Cluster Biosphere Reserve), has been instrumental. They applied to a program and received funding and support for green initiatives, allowing The Wildflower to blossom. This partnership underscores the commitment to environmental stewardship and community development.
The Wildflower is an extension of Nicole’s first venture, Cosmic Vegan Ice Cream, where she creates delicious and healthy vegan ice cream. This expansion into a small café and eco shop is a natural progression of the mission to promote a plant-based lifestyle and return focus and energy to the importance of making and supporting high-quality locally made goods to stabilize and sustain small local entrepreneurs, businesses and economy.
The bulk of our operations are powered by solar energy, and they proudly maintain a zero-landfill waste policy by recycling, upcycling and composting waste. This dedication to sustainability is not just about business practices but also about education. At The Wildflower, they help people learn about clean living and healthy eating. This serene space offers a haven for connection, fostering a sense of community that many in town have longed for.
The essence of The Wildflower is rooted in the principles of health, authenticity, peace, and kindness. They strive to live by the philosophy of ‘ahimsa,’ promoting harmony with nature and compassion towards others.
Visit The Wildflower and experience a place where eco-consciousness and plant-based living come together beautifully.
