The Grootvadersbosch Conservancy, located about 20 kilometer outside Heidelberg, offers nomad explorers a variety of mountain bike trails – each with a different length and difficulty level to it.
You can choose from the Red Route, Blue Route, Black Route, Green Route, Heidelberg Route or Suurbraak Route. The Heidelberg Route is a fun trail through Heidelberg and is over 10km’s with an elevation between 300 and 500. The terrain is mostly single track and tar road.
The Green Route is a single track, rough jeep track route within the conservancy and has a distance of 23km’s. The elevation is up to 700m – with the route taking up to 3 hours to complete.
The Black Route is a challenging route which covers a distance of 40km’s on single- and jeep track. The elevation gets to 1050m and the routes takes on average 5 hours to complete.
Permits are available at the Grootvadersbosch Conservancy office, selected guest houses and at Delish Restaurant in Heidelberg.
