HESSEQUA HERITAGE WEEKEND EXPERIENCES

The much-anticipated heritage long weekend is on the horizon and in Hessequa we look forward to a jam-packed weekend of trail running, classical music, markets and authentic local experiences.

 HESSEQUA HARMONIE FESTIVAL – HEIDELBERG

This festival takes place from 19-23 September 2023 in the picturesque town of Heidelberg, along the N2. The highlights for Friday, 22 September 2023 includes a book breakfast with Anchien Troskie and Elsabé Daneel and VIA Cook and Classic with Herman Lensing and Lynelle Kenned.

Saturday, 23 September 2023 sees performances by Gertjie Besselsen and Niel Rademan at the Dasjesdrift Venue and a picnic with Corneil Muller, Zanne Stapelberg, Minette du Toit-Pearce, Niël Rademan, Gertjie Besselsen, Elna van der Merwe and Lucas Heinen.

STILBAAI HERITAGE FESTIVAL

The Stilbaai Heritage Festival takes place from 23 September 2023 and hosted at the Palinggat Homestead. The event will host a variety of local stalls with food, art and crafts. The Stilbaai Tourism Office will also accommodate visitors wanting to feed tame eels, visit the Stilbaai Museum of Archaeology and browse through the local art and craft shop.

THE HESSEQUA HERITAGE TRAIL RUN

The annual Hessequa Heritage Trail Run takes place on Saturday, 23 September 2023. The main route (16 kilometers) takes runners from Jongensfontein to Stilbaai via a scenic and challenging coastal route. The 5 kilometer route is more family orientated, but just a scenic and allows participants to view some of the regions best Fynbos.

The Hessequa Heritage Trail Run finish line is at the Palinggat Homestead, where the Stilbaai Tourism Bureau will be hosting their Heritage Festival.
